Roadways supplies high-quality recycled 6F5 capping aggregate, also widely known as 6F2 crushed concrete or hardcore, for builders, groundworkers, civil engineering contractors and private projects across East Sussex and the wider South East region.

This heavy-duty aggregate is produced by separating clean concrete and hardcore from local construction streams and crushing it down to 100mm to dust. It provides an exceptionally strong, cost-effective and sustainable alternative to primary quarried stone, helping projects divert inert waste away from landfill while meeting strict corporate Scope 3 carbon reduction targets.

Technical specifications and project estimating:

• Compliance: Fully certified and produced in strict accordance with the WRAP Quality Protocol and the Specification for Highway Works Series 600 Earthworks guidelines, now Cl 6. of CC 201 Highways Standard.
• Local approval: Approved for use across regional local authority contracts and commercial infrastructure schemes.
• Material density: Weighs approximately 1.7 tonnes per cubic metre.
• Coverage guide: As a general rule for project estimation, 1 tonne of loose material will cover roughly 5 square metres at a compacted depth of 100mm.
