Civils Ganger/Foreman
We are looking for motivated and experienced foremen to join our growing team. You’ll enjoy a varied leadership role encompassing either surfacing or groundworking/civils projects. Typical projects include streetworks, shallow drainage, town centre improvements, carriageway reconstruction and preparation for resurfacing projects including roads and car parks.
You will lead a team of 2-8 people.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure the safe operation of the site
- Deliver site inductions and daily briefings
- Lead, motivate and direct your team
- Ensure work is completed to specification, safely and on time
- Manage health, safety and environmental compliance requirements, ensuring processes and procedures are in place
- Plan works, develop programmes and place orders for materials
- Undertake manual labour, digging, lifting, carrying and cleaning on site as required
- Raise technical queries, early warnings and compensation events. Complete site records and other paperwork
Requirements:
- Experience of leading, managing and developing others
- Asphalt surfacing or groundwork/civils experience
- Understanding of drawings and specifications
- Experience in setting levels and measuring up
- Valid driving licence
- CSCS, CPCS or NPORS card
- SSSTS (desirable)
- NRSWA operative or supervisor status (desirable)
- Familiar with NEC contract (desirable)
- Clear of alcohol and drugs when reporting for work (a regular testing programme is in place)
