We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Weighbridge Operator to join our growing team at Roadways.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating the weighbridge to control traffic flow within the weighbridge area and and processing all aggregates and other materials in and out of the yard.

Key responsibilities:

  • Operating the weighbridge and accurately recording and managing the weights of incoming and outgoing vehicles to ensure that vehicles are not overloaded
  • Processing waste tickets and checking waste carrier licences
  • Vehicle allocation, service and maintenance scheduling
  • Managing yard aggregate sales
  • Processing all aggregates and other material in and out of the yard through the stock control system (Vend)
  • Maintaining production records and amending stock levels as required
  • Stock Control and ordering  of non aggregates i.e PPE, small tools, spares etc
  • Other ad-hoc projects as directed by the Management Team.

Key skills and person specification:

  • Experience in operating a weighbridge
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience working in a busy depot
  • Forklift operation (desirable)
  • PAT testing trained (desirable)
  • Knowledge of civils and surfacing (desirable)
